The John Carew Foundation is a joint venture with R&B recording artist Akon and seeks to nurture young footballing talent from the Gambia. But it goes much further than a run-of-the-mill academy. Players are also taught life lessons, cultural awareness and are protected from the excesses sometimes associated with young, successful sportsmen by a concierge management team that operates throughout Europe. This team, coupled with excellent training and development staff gives these young players a firm foundation on which to build successful careers.
